If you're not sure what this videoblog is about then here are 4 of my favourite videos to get you started. If you're interested by what you see then click on the comments link at the bottom of this entry to add your thoughts.
click on the images to see the movies, they'll open in a small pop-up window, each one is about 30secs long and around 2mb in size) or download them here if the pop up doesn't work -
- shelter, friends, i'm yours you're mine, passion -
Most of the stuff I post here is documentary, not planned and staged, just captured. I film using a little digital stills camera, and then treat the image and sound to help focus the ideas I'm presenting, and often write some music. You'll need to have quicktime to view these films, although some of them are available as flash movies in the archive.

I stole the idea of a 'first visit' post from daniel at pouringdown.blogspot.com, if you haven't already seen his videoblog forget looking at my stuff and go there now, not only does he have great ideas about presenting stuff to new visitors, but he regularly produces beautiful and emotive films that truly embody the ideas John Grierson used to define documentary - 'the creative treatment of actuality'

Brilliant, I love your work.
Cheers
wow i found your blog through zed, your work is very inspiring! finding your page is going to make my week!!! thanks!
what program are you using for your for treatment?
pretty much all in Final Cut Pro with coloru correction, masks and blurs.. i usually shoot at 60fps on a little canon ixus (which is currently broken though! hence the lack of new videos!)
Not be corny, but very inspiring. I'm inspired to get out my digital camera this weekend.
I like to take still shots (rather than video) and record some audio on my voicerecorder... But nothing too sophisticated yet.
This page is great, welcome to the blogger "blogs of note" list.
THANK YOU!
Wow. I love how you're able to express life's little moments like that. I tried to express in words the beauty of a moment yesterday and someone called me "pretentious." Oh well. Looking back, I guess it was, though that wasn't my intention.
On the other hand, I just don't think some people have the capacity to appreciate.
I love the idea of carrying around a video camera. I agree with your other commenters, very inspiring. {:-)
I am always fascinated by the Video blogs. I am not adept to put them on mine but that is not me. It amazes me how simple moments caught on film are so thought provoking. Thank you.
Wonderful direction and composition...great work!!

These videos are hot!
very cool, congrats on blogs of note
Really nice blog, I should get some
videos on mine Journal as well.
Thanks.
Wow, amazing stuff. Getting that kind of quality in found moments is hard enough in still photography, not to mention film. I love the music you compose, too. Superb.
"This is the most pathetic blog I have ever seen. It really is crappy. Crappy would be an understatement."
Repeating what the others have been saying would make it so boring even though its the truth.
Best Of Luck!
Be Happy and Spread the peace!
The way you represent your thought is beautiful and very transparent. your blog is live and says some thing very natural.
Uh. I don't get the videos. WHy are they superb? Please tell me. I'm a SAHM who regularly videos the antics of my children and takes photos daily. I don't know If I'm totally lacking in the artistic dept. or what, but I don't get the disconnected-ness of these videos. You don't seem involved in your subjects at all- Why is that attractive?
This is fantastic! You've inspired me to get that $300 camera out that I don't use. I'll check back often.
wondering if u could help me with how the hell u got ur page so nice! i could really learn something from u, i'd appreciate ur help...? if u'd care to help, can u leave me a post on my page

'shelter' is very moving. maybe its because i'm in a lonely place in my life at the moment, but i found it sad to watch because of the closeness and the giving of shelter from one person to another. but it was really lovely and beautiful.

First of all, Thanks for linking my blog on your web page. However, I don't satisfied very much with my blog yet and actually I think my blog is not worth shucks. Anyway thank you so much!.
